Cultural Spaces

From faithfully recreated prehistoric caves to immersive museums, Atelier Emocio designs, sculpts and stages extraordinary cultural spaces, combining scientific rigour, emotion and innovation to offer visitors an unforgettable plunge into history.

Cosquer Mediterranean

AAB designed the complete restoration of the Cosquer Cave at the Villa Méditerranée, Marseille: 3,500 m² of sculpted concrete, 400 m of speleothems and the complete scenography of the embarkation station. 1 year of studies, 10 months on site to recreate the original reliefs, colours and basins.

Lascaux IV International Centre for Cave Art

For the Conseil Général, AAB recreated 1,000 m² of walls and ceilings in the facsimile of the prehistoric cave (8,500 m²). A year of research, followed by a year on site, enabled the reliefs, geology and colour scheme to be reproduced identically. Opening: December 2016.

La Caverne Pont d'Arc

Atelier Artistique du Béton has produced an anamorphic version of the 8,000 m² of walls, ceilings and floors in the Grotte Chauvet. Six months of studies and tests in the workshop resulted in textures and renderings of striking fidelity.

The City of History

Cité de l'Histoire, an immersive museum near Paris: Atelier Emocio designed, monitored and built the experience: 1,200 m² of sculpted concrete, 720 m² of themed floors, cycloramas, accessories, paint, partitions, trains and animated cannons.
